Story on COVID-19 led change in the experience

The deadly Novel coronavirus disease has spread around the World. Originated from Wuhan city of China and spreaded rapidly around the World. The deadly disease is also known as COVID19. The COVID19 outbreak came to light on 31st December 2019. First case of covid-19 was found in Wuhan on 17th November 2019. Since more than 3,000 deaths have been reported due to coronavirus across the globe. Cases have been founded from more than 90 countries, including India. The virus has the ability to spread human to human transmission being reported first in Vietnam and Germany. Due to its high R rate WHO [World Health Organisation] declared it as Pandemic and declared a global health emergency. The year 2020 has been the most dramatic and shocking year of my life. COVID-19 is the largest spreading disease in the history of my life I heard. People were shocked what to do and not to do? There is no drug or vaccine for the disease, lockdown was the only option with many countries. COVID-19 also started spreading in India, it was the time of festival Holi and I had returned home on vacation.

The honourable PM Modi ji announced ‘Janta curfew’ on 22nd March 2020 to break the chain of people, to control the spread of viruses and also to appreciate Corona warriors, that was a good step towards motivation of corona warriors. I also participated in that event, it was a

proud moment for me. The whole nation has thanked the Corona warriors by clapping and shown their gratitude towards him. Whole nation gets united to thank the Warriors for their effort and I also bow to them for serving our great nation. Just after 3 days honourable PM has addressed the nation at 8 o’ clock of night and announced the lockdown for 21 days. I never heard such things, it was my new experience. I had to stay home for a long period. The moment I heard about lockdown, I was shocked at that time because school, college, mall, shopping complex, cinema, banks, factories all had to be shut down. People had to stay in their homes, they could only come out for necessary needs. But there was not any way to stop public movement, I know the government has taken these steps for our safety, wearing masks was necessary, it was necessary to maintain social distance. 21 days were a very long period of time to stay inside our homes and suppress the need. In the first lockdown there were no covid-19 cases in my area, so my parents allowed me to play outdoor games with my neighborhood friends. I used to play my favourite game of cricket, I enjoyed it a lot. Because from late childhood i have never stayed more than a month, this is the first time experience staying home more than a month. Life seemed to have stopped, I am an extrovert person and staying away from my friend was difficult for me. People faced so many issues like depression, irritation, obesity and as well as physical issues, but for many people it was also a good experience like a person who is busy in their work, they got a chance to spend time with their family. For introverted people it was a good time, being away from society. Some people panic and they started storing daily needs products, but I was relaxed with my family. The Government of India ordered the epic like Ramayana, Mahabharata, Shri Krishna to play on Durdarshan. I enjoyed watching the epic with my family, I gained the knowledge and it was a great experience for me. By the end of lockdown 1 number of corona patients started increasing, my parents didn’t allow me to go outside and then I stopped playing outdoors. I felt very uncomfortable by that time and again.

The Government of India announced lockdown 2.0. It was a 19 days lockdown, till 3rd May As the day passed everyone, including me started taking more precautions to remain safe from the disease. I started watching Television, Netflix, Amazon prime and playing indoor games like chess, ludo with my family members. I started my self study, and

preparations for university entrance. I used to watch youtube videos of educationists and learned a lot, because schools and coaching were closed. I also read some books to pass my time. I played computer games too. My mother used to prepare delicious food at home, we all enjoyed it. Government also cancelled our exams. I was very happy that time, because I know now I will get more time for preparation. I started my preparation for Banaras Hindu University entrance exam through youtube classes like Bhu World, Wifi-Study etc. As I mentioned above I am an extrovert person, so living inside the house for the whole day was a very tough task for me, boredom was taking over me. But whenever I am busy in studying, boredom isn't overcome. I learned a few things about being in quarantine that are Value, value of friends, family, value of time, value of loved ones and most important value of resources like food, shelter, water. Definitely I am not going to waste these resources, I love to eat restaurant food but that was not possible in a pandemic. Second important thing which I learned, to take care of our health, I started working out at home. Reason was my fitness and I reduced weight. Third is equality. This pandemic showed us the mirror of equality, we are on the same board no matter which caste or religion we belong to. We all are suffering equally, no matter how rich you are we all are equal. I realized people below the poverty line or those who are immigrants, thrown out of the houses and lost their jobs. They were unemployed and had no money to spend their livelihood, they were mens, womens, childrens of all age groups. So they started returning home, there were no transport facilities, they seemed helpless. I really want to help them, but I couldn't reach them. Whenever I remember that moment my heart felt out. Lockdown 2.0 was about to end and the corona case was rapidly increasing in our country as well as global level. Countries like the United states of America, Italy, Canada were suffering from covid-19, scientists were unable to find a vaccine. Government was helpless, it was a very hard task to overcome coronavirus. Whole nation was fighting with coronavirus and our corona warriors were helping the people to remain healthy. Wearing a mask and mentioning social distance became our habit. It was a day 30th April, I heard the death news of legend Irfan khan and next day one more legend Rishi kapoor which really broke me and made me emotional, because I am a big fan of his acting. Lockdown 2.0 got overed on 3rd May.

The Government of India declared the Lockdown 3.0, with the same rules and conditions. Corona cases were increasing rapidly, India has a total number of cases is 16,281 during the third lockdown. The national capital was registering more than 1000 cases in 24 hours, which really left people in a bad situation, but our government was taking good steps for the safety of people. Lockdown 3.0 was going normal, by this time living inside home had become my habit. Then I decided to learn cooking from my mother. I watched my mother when she was cooking, also learnt from youtube and then decided to make chicken with the help of my mother. I made this tasty and to everyone's surprise, after a few days I tried to make egg biryani. It was a tastier liker restaurant. We had crossed lockdown 3.0 by that time. I continued my learning and experimenting with new dishes. I was waiting for the lockdown to be removed, but it didn’t happen because of the rapid increase of corona cases. The Government again extended the lockdown 4.0 till 30th May. Again the Government had postponed universities entrance exams and trains were cancelled too. Then I decided to help my father in farming work and I had learnt various things about farming, Moong lentils were being cultivated. My schedule of living has been changed, I try to give my time for studies. I used to watch different episodes with my family and also discuss my future plan with my parents. Till that time lockdown 4.0 was about to over and the Government had to share his future plan for ahead. By keeping an eye on the economy sector, the Government removed the lockdown and declared Unlock 1.0 with do’s and don’ts. Now people are allowed to go outside, but also to follow rules, the Government primmeted shops, factories to be reopened. It seems life was ready to return on track, people started their work for livelihood and I was also happy. Things are coming back to normal a bit but our exams have been postponed for 1 more month and then I started searching about Universities, it took more than 15 days. I was a little bit confused about universities, about my course, rather than I found LPU[Lovely Professional Universities], India’s best private university. I have shared with my father and he allowed me to take admission in LPU, I was too happy to be the student of LPU. I have chosen Ba+Bed stream and also filled the LPUNEST form for scholarship. I started preparing for a scholarship test, because exams were there just after four days. On 31st July I had given my exam from home itself and was waiting for the result, which has to be announced after 3 days. After 3 days my result was declared on the portal

and I was selected in the first category of LPUNEST Scholarship test and got a reward of 45% off in my semester fee. I was waiting now for the class starting date which is 12th of August, class has started on 12th. Attending online class for 4 to 5 hours was a tough task for me, it was a new experience. First 15 days were uncomfortable for me, after that it became my habit now it was easy to sit and attend class. Now I attend online classes everyday followed by the assignment. I like this system of online classes at my University. Noe boredom never overcomes me, because most of the time I am busy in my work, assignment and with my friend. I found all my teachers are productive and that’s the good thing for me. It may take around a year or so for life to return to complete track. I wish this coronavirus would disappear from this world as soon as possible. So that people can live their normal life again. I believe this experience of spreading a pandemic and lockdown is new for all of us and hopeful we are not going to witness such a thing again. Now I am waiting for the reopening of my University, so that I can meet my friends, teachers and to attain physical classes.
